Airport Property Leasing

Port Macquarie Airport offers a range of commercial and property leasing opportunities, including retail space within the passenger terminal building, and a number of Council-owned hangars and hangar sites located within the General Aviation Precinct.

Council leases land and buildings at the Airport for aviation-related business activities which have the potential to provide significant employment and economic benefits to the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.  Airport land is managed under the Airport - Leasing of Lands and Buildings Policy, which requires rental rates to be established through an independent valuation.

General Aviation Precinct Expansion (Hangar Sites)

The General Aviation (GA) precinct currently consists of 13 hangars with airside access onto two GA aprons and is currently fully occupied by existing tenants. Six of these hangars are Council-owned and leased to commercial tenants, with the remaining seven privately-owned with a ground lease on council-owned land.

In response to enquiries from prospective tenants, including from existing local businesses, businesses looking to relocate to Port Macquarie, as well as emergency response organisations, we have undertaken initial planning and investigation into the expansion of the GA precinct to provide for new hangar development sites.

In consultation with airport stakeholders and planning consultants, we have developed various high-level concept designs, such as the design shown below.  We will be engaging with local operators and interested parties in 2022/23 to further understand the market needs, refine a detailed design and develop a business case for a potential future development.
